Our goal is to provide quality medical care in a timely manner. In order to do so we implemented a No-Show / Cancellation policy. The policy enables us to better decrease waiting times and utilize available appointments for our patients in need of obstetrics and gynecology care. 

Cancellation or Rescheduling an Appointment

In order to be respectful of the medical needs of the community, please be courteous and contact our office promptly if you are unable to attend an appointment.

  • We require a minimum of at least two business days notice so that your appointment can be reallocated to someone else.

  • Call the clinic at (250) 339-3114. The phones are answered between 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and a message can be left if we are not here or the line is busy.  

Late Cancellation and No-Show Fees 

Our late cancellation/no show policy is:

Initial consultations: 

  • $150 fee  

Follow-up appointments: 

  • 1st no-show, patient will be notified and "no show" recorded in their chart

  • 2nd no show, $50 fee

Late cancellations under 2 business days will be considered a no-show. A no-show is someone who misses an appointment without cancelling 2 business days in advance, or who fails to present at the time of a scheduled appointment. This policy also applies to all scheduled telehealth visits.

If an emergency situation arises, please let us know so that we can treat your specific situation with personal attention. We recognize that there are circumstances that are out of your control (sudden illness, family emergencies, road closures etc.) and your physician may make an exception to the above policies on those rare occasions.

Patients will not be allowed to reschedule their appointment until the cancellation fee is collected. We accept cash, cheque, or e-transfer to admin@oceanviewclinic.ca
